Classic Airframes original 1/48 FIAT Cr.42 kit built with Italian Classic's conversion/upgrade parts.
The very first 1/48 Classic Airframe FIAT Cr.42 kit had many shortcomings. This one was built using Italian Classic's very comprehensive upgrade set which pratically replaced nearly all the kit parts apart from the fuselage.
The same kit was also released in a Flashback boxing.
Classic Airframe 1/48 FIAT Cr.42 biposto
As if to make up for the disappointment of their original Cr.42 kit, a few years later Classic Airframe released a series of totally new models, covering a variety of types, including the biposto trainer seen in the four images above. It is perhaps the oddest looking one of them all... apart from the Daimler Benz prototype, the only one not covered in this scale.
The other types were the idrovolante, a Luftwaffe Night fighter and an AS variant. All of them are much better than the original kit, although I do feel that the rear fuselage shape is not quite right, especially when compared with the more slab sided 1/48 Italeri kits.
